Every ten years the Town of East Hartford updates its Plan of Development. The Plan includes a review of demographic data, land use policies, transportation needs, open space and recreation needs, housing needs and special study area activities. This is an important document in that it establishes a guide for the Town in making decisions concerning investment and development policies. Therefore, acquisition of any property by the Town has to be found consistent with the Plan and any proposed zone change also has to be in conformance with the Plan of Development.
